Parking hintsOn campus parking: The 7th Street garage at the corner of 7th and E. San Salvador Street, operated by San Jose State University, is the closest to MacQuarrie Hall. There is also a SJSU parking garage at the corner of 4th St. and E. San Salvador St. Both of these garages say "permit parking only". Permit parking means is that once you drive into the garage and park you have to go to a machine and buy a permit. Parking is free for 20 minutes in the 7th St. garage, $1 per half-hour for up to 2 hours and $5 good until midnight. The machines take credit cards and cash.
Off-campus parking: There is a public parking garage shortly before 201 South 4th St. in the Colonnade Plaza Garage. That garage is only $3 for the full evening after 6:00pm and is faster to get into and out of, but is a slightly longer walk than parking on campus.
